I am the awarded PI (Principal Investigator) for CCI (Commonwealth Cyber Initiative) grant 2023, for my project “SentimentVoice: Integrating emotion AI and VR in Performing Arts”. I have used emotion AI-sentiment analysis algorithm supported by my dear friend Stefano Faralli, CS professor at Univ of Rome, Italy, since 2016. This time, VCU AI professor, Dr. Alberto Cano will join the project, to work with various emotion tracking technology, such as face tracking, eye tracking, Chat GPT API, voice analysis, speech to text, biofeedback, etc. We will collect the stories from the immigrants, and create a live VR storytelling performance addressing two facets of AI- surveillance and empathy.
